Was a walk-on tight end on the UTSA football team during the fall 2015 semester … appeared in 31 contests during the 2014-15 season at McLennan [Texas] CC for head coach Kevin Gill … averaged 8.6 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest while he shot 54.6 percent from the floor and 79.8 percent at the free-throw line … scored a season-high 26 points in a win over God’s Academy … spent the 2013-14 season at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi under head coach Willis Wilson and was one of two players to start all 34 contests … ranked third on the team by averaging 8.2 points to go along with 3.0 rebounds per game … shot 44.4 percent from the floor and 41.3 percent from behind the arc … posted a season-high 20 points in games against Tennessee Tech and UT-Permian Basin … spent his prep career at Clear Springs High School in League City, Texas, and earned first-team all-district laurels as a senior after he averaged 22.3 points and 11 rebounds per game and led the team to 21 wins … in all, was a three-time first-team all-district honoree for the Chargers and was tabbed the Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore after the team claimed 30 victories along with district and area titles … finished his playing career with school records for points, rebounds and double-doubles … also was an academic all-district pick and a member of the National Honor Society.
