A three-year starter and letterman at Brusly (La.) High School • As a senior he averaged 15.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 5.0 blocks per game in leading the Panthers to a 26-6 record and a District 8-3A championship • After his senior year he was an academic all-state and all-district selection • Academically he ranked 11th out of 120 students in his senior class.
