A former collegiate offensive lineman, Marcus Alexander is in his second season as a graduate assistant for the UTSA offense.

In his first year in San Antonio, the Roadrunners registered seven wins, capped by a 57-20 rout of FIU in the First Responder Bowl. Alexander worked directly with the offensive line, helping UTSA pile up 5,444 total yards, an average of 418.8 per game to rank 28th in the FBS in 2025. The Roadrunners racked up 2,225 rushing yards and 3,219 passing yards, totals that both rank in the top five in school history. The group cleared a path for a potent 1-2 punch in the backfield in Robert Henry Jr. and Will Henderson III. Henry, an honorable mention All-American and first-team all-conference performer, became the third 1,000-yard rusher in program history with 1,045 yards, while Henderson dashed for 866, and both running backs averaged 6.9 yards per carry on the season.

Alexander came to UTSA from Midwestern State, where he served in a variety of roles in Spring 2025, including head offensive line coach and running backs and tight ends coach.

Alexander was a former offensive lineman at Oklahoma (2019-22), Texas State (2023) and Austin Peay (2024). During his time at Oklahoma, he helped the Sooners to back-to-back Big 12 Conference Championships, a College Football Playoff appearance and five bowl games.

He spent the 2023 season at Texas State, playing in 10 games at guard. He did not allow a sack on 46 pass plays and helped lead the Bobcats to an 8-5 campaign that was capped with a 45-21 win over Rice in the First Responder Bowl.

Alexander played his final season at Austin Peay in 2024, starting all 12 games on the offensive line with seven at left guard and five at right guard.

Alexander was a two-way star at Sunnyvale High School near Dallas, Texas. He was named to the Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA) Class-4A All-State Second Team as a senior in 2018 after earning honorable mention all-state accolades as a junior.

Alexander earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from Oklahoma in 2023.
