Jacob LaFrance was named UTSA’s Director of Player of Personnel on March 24, 2016.
Among LaFrance’s primary responsibilities will be prospect evaluation, organizing recruiting events, creating and managing recruiting materials, maintaining the recruiting database, updating the recruiting board, assisting the coaching staff with roster management and working with the NFL liaison on visits and research.
LaFrance comes to San Antonio from Maryland, where he was a recruiting analyst for the football program for two seasons. During his tenure with the Terrapins, he oversaw day-to-day recruiting operations, built and managed the recruiting database, organized on-campus recruiting events and facilitated the evaluation process.
Prior to his time at Maryland, LaFrance was a personnel assistant with the football program at LSU from 2009-14, where he worked closely with Wilson, who was the Tigers’ recruiting coordinator. He played a key role in landing five top-10 recruiting classes during his time in Baton Rouge.
LaFrance is a native of Baton Rouge, La. He earned his bachelor’s degree in sports administration with a minor in business administration from LSU in December 2012.
