Amanda Gilpin joined UTSA as Director of Football Operations in Spring 2016. Among her responsibilities are assisting the coaching staff with day-to-day operations of the program, coordinating team travel, assisting with summer camps and organizing community service projects.
Gilpin came to the San Antonio from Tennessee, where she spent seven years working with the Volunteers’ football program. She was the offensive coaching staff’s assistant for one year before she was promoted to the assistant for the offensive/defensive staff and the assistant to head coach Butch Jones.
The Hattiesburg, Miss., native got her start in college athletics as a student assistant for Mississippi’s then-head coach David Cutcliffe. She then was promoted to a full-time recruiting assistant in 2005 under Ed Orgeron and remained in that role under Houston Nutt through the 2009 season.
Gilpin has been a part of five bowl teams during her career: 2009 Cotton Bowl, 2009 Chick-fil-A Bowl, 2010 Music City Bowl, 2015 Taxslayer Bowl and 2016 Gildan New Mexico Bowl.
