Junior (2014)
Appeared in all 12 contests (four starts) … finished the campaign with 29 tackles (17 solos/12 assists), including 6.5 for loss and a team-leading 3.5 sacks … also recorded three QB hurries and forced a pair of fumbles in his first season back following reconstructive knee surgery … had a career-high eight stops and 1.5 sacks at Oklahoma State (Sept. 13) … his two tackles in the backfield in the home opener against Arizona (Sept. 4) also was a personal best. … earned a medical redshirt after sustaining a season-ending injury in the 2013 opener at New Mexico (Aug. 31) … recorded one tackle before leaving that contest in the second half.
Sophomore (2012)
Played in 10 games … missed the Rice (Oct. 13) and San Jose State (Oct. 20) tilts due to injury … collected 12 tackles (7 solos/5 assists), including two for loss and a sack, a team-leading seven QB hurries and a pair of pass breakups … recorded a season-high four stops, one sack and two QB hurries in the home opener against Texas A&M-Commerce (Sept. 8) … had another four tackles and four hurries against Northwestern Oklahoma State (Sept. 22).
Freshman (2011)
Saw action in all 10 games, including a half dozen starts … racked up 14 tackles (7 solos), including four for loss and a sack, and two quarterback hurries … also returned an interception 67 yards for a touchdown in the season finale against Minot State (Nov. 19) … posted a season-high six stops (3 solos), two TFLs and a sack at McNeese State (Nov. 12).
Prior To UTSA
Played quarterback as a sophomore and flourished when moved to the defensive line prior to his junior campaign … tabbed the 2010 District 8-5A Defensive Player of the Year after registering 66 tackles, five sacks and an interception … earned consensus first-team All-District 6-5A honors as a junior … coached by Bryan Erwin.
Personal
Born Oct. 28, 1992 … son of Rita and Jeff Neill … graduated with an exercise science degree in May 2015 and currently is taking graduate courses in health & kinesiology.
