Campbell (a.k.a. the Academic Heisman) and one of 12 finalists for the Wuerffel Trophy … a Senior CLASS Award nominee who was named to the Manning Award (nation’s top QB) preseason watch list … connected on 236-of-377 (62.6 percent) passes for 2,719 yards, including a program-record 316 against Houston (Sept. 28), and 12 touchdowns … also rushed for 369 yards and a team-leading seven scores on 97 carries … named Conference USA Player of the Week after matching a career-high with 30 completions (in 49 attempts) for 274 yards and scoring a pair of second-half rushing touchdowns at North Texas (Nov. 23).

Junior (2012)
One of 10 finalists for the Awards and Recognition Association Sportsmanship Award … team captain started 10 contests … missed the San Jose State (Oct. 20) and Utah State (Oct. 27) tilts due to injury … completed 166-of-282 (58.9 percent) passes for 2,085 yards and 20 touchdowns, including a program-record four at #22 Louisiana Tech (Nov. 3) … his 314 passing yards against the Bulldogs and 82-yard TD toss to Kenny Bias at New Mexico State (Sept. 29) also were school marks … threw just three interceptions and, at one time, went an FBS-leading 256 passes between picks … rushed for 364 yards and six TDs on 67 carries (5.4 avg.) … tied a program record with three rushing scores at Idaho (Nov. 17) … accounted for 244.9 yards of total offense per game … rushed for 97 yards on seven carries against Texas State (Nov. 24) and another 89 on 11 totes a week earlier at Idaho.

Sophomore (2011)
Started all 10 games in his first action since his senior year of high school in 2008 … completed 172-of-307 passes (56 percent) for 2,148 yards and 14 touchdowns … had five passes of at least 50 yards (three TDs) and averaged 24.9 yards per touchdown … second on the team with 285 rushing yards and scored three times on 95 carries … accounted for 243.3 yards of total offense per outing … scored the first touchdown in program history when he reached paydirt from 14 yards out against Northeastern State (Sept. 3) … connected on 17-of-29 passes for 237 yards and a pair of scores in addition to rushing for 102 yards on 14 totes in the historic 31-3 victory … threw for a season-high 257 yards and two TDs at UC Davis (Oct. 15) … added a pair of TD passes against McMurry (Sept. 10), South Alabama (Oct. 8), McNeese State (Nov. 12) and Minot State (Nov. 19) … sat out the 2010 campaign, as UTSA only practiced that fall.

Prior To UTSA
Transfer from Texas State, where he sat out as a redshirt in 2009 … played for his father, Chris, at Beeville Jones High School … totaled 8,052 passing yards and 86 touchdown passes to go along with 1,598 rushing yards and 29 TDs in his career … also racked up 65 tackles and five interceptions … passed for 2,248 yards and 25 TDs, rushed for 1,001 yards and 15 scores and registered 28 tackles and two picks as a senior … named the All-South Texas Offensive Player of the Year, first-team all-area and District 30-4A MVP that season … tabbed honorable mention all-state, first-team All-South Texas, all-area co-MVP and the district‘s Offensive Player of the Year as a junior … the District 30-4A Offensive Player of the Year as a sophomore and Newcomer of the Year as a freshman … a four-time district all-academic selection … a starter in basketball and baseball and also lettered in golf and track & field.
