Sophomore (2012)
Played in a pair of games (Georgia State/Northwestern Oklahoma State) … was a perfect 9-for-9 for 83 yards passing and added 40 rushing yards on just five carries (8.0 avg.) … connected on all eight of his throws for 72 yards, including a long of 25 yards, against Northwestern Oklahoma State (Sept. 22) … also ran four times for 27 yards … tossed an 11-yard completion and had a season-long 13-yard rush at Georgia State (Sept. 15).
Freshman (2011)
Participated in four contests … completed 5-of-6 passes for 49 yards and a score in addition to rushing nine times for 40 yards … connected on 4-of-5 throws for 43 yards, including an 18-yard TD, and also racked up 45 yards on just five totes, including a 36-yarder, against Bacone (Sept. 24) … redshirted in 2010, as UTSA only practiced that season.
Prior To UTSA
Began prep career at WR before shifting to QB late in his junior year … earned second-team All-District 26-5A honors as a senior after throwing for 2,150 yards and rushing for another 978 … helped lead team to an 11-4 record and a spot in the Class 5A Division II semifinals that fall … a 2008 second-team all-district selection (utility) … connected on 48-of-81 passes for 532 yards and four touchdowns the final three games of the season … registered 18 receptions for 243 yards and three TDs before making the position switch that year … coached by Chuck Caniford … also played basketball and was a state qualifier in track & field.
