Redshirt Senior (2022): Established himself as UTSA’s ace and its Friday night guy, going 9-3 with two saves across 19 appearances in 11 starts … posted a 2.67 ERA (third lowest in conference) over 87.2 innings pitched (most on the team) where he allowed 35 runs on 81 hits, striking out 62 and walking 14 … Malone’s nine wins led the entirety of Conference USA and were the second most wins in a single season in program history … picked up his third career win and first win of the year on 2/25 against Seattle, going 7.1 innings, allowing one run and striking out a career high seven batters … began the season as the Roadrunners’ midweek starter, leading UTSA to weekday wins against UIW (8 IP, 0 R, 5 K) and Houston Baptist (2 IP, 1 R, 4 K) before being cemented as the Friday night guy … went 6.2 innings in a start at FAU (3/25), allowing two runs and picking up his third win … earned his first career save at UIW (3/29) tossing a hitless/scoreless frame in the ninth … hurled 7.2 innings against No. 23 Charlotte (4/1) where he allowed just one run and struck out six, leading UTSA to a win … continued his starting pitching dominance until mid-May where he transitioned into a jack-of-all-trades … picked up his second save of the year at No. 11 Southern Miss (5/13) and pitched long relief against the Golden Eagles on 5/15 going for 6.2 innings … continued to make long relief appearances in the C-USA tournament where he turned in a record-breaking game … in the first C-USA tournament game against FAU (5/25), Malone pitched all but 10 pitched in nine innings of relief (not facing the first two batters) … against FAU, Malone led UTSA to a first round win over the Owls, allowing six hits and two runs over the nine relief innings … the all-time performance set a C-USA tournament record for most relief innings pitched … Malone’s success led to him being named First-Team All-Conference USA, the first Roadrunner pitcher to achieve that feat since Karan Patel in 2019 and fourth UTSA pitcher all-time.

Redshirt Junior (2021): Went 2-2 with a 6.41 ERA over 17 games and seven starts … worked 46.1 innings – a team-high – allowing 55 hits and 21 walks, striking out 35 … in C-USA action, made 12 appearances and two starts with a 1-1 record and a 7.83 ERA … worked in 23 league innings, allowing 32 hits, eight walks and striking out 18 … UTSA was 4-3 in his starts … worked 3.2 innings in the season opener at Sam Houston State, allowing three runs … tossed seven strong innings vs. UT Arlington, allowing a run with six strikeouts … worked 5.2 strong innings at No. 15 LSU with three walks and four strikeouts … worked 3.1 innings at TAMU-CC, allowing three runs … worked in relief over his next six outings, highlighted by 4.2 inning vs. Rice without allowing an earned run … earned a start at UAB the next weekend, allowing three runs over two innings … went 3.2 innings in the C-USA Championships vs. WKU, allowing five runs on six hits and four walks. Summer: Helped led the San Antonio Flying Chanclas to the Texas Collegiate League Championship … worked in nine games with eight starts, posting a 4-1 record and a 2.89 ERA … hurled 46.2 innings, allowing 46 hits and 10 walks, striking out 35 … worked seven strong innings on Aug. 3 in his final start of the year, allowing two earned runs … tossed six innings in a win on July 28 … tossed a summer-long 7.2 innings with a run allowed on July 15 … earned the win on July 8 with five innings of one-run pitching … in his summer debut, worked six shutout innings with six strikeouts on July 1.

Redshirt Sophomore (2020): Worked in four games with one start, posting a 13.50 ERA in 2.2 innings, allowing six hits and four runs, walking two and striking out one. 

Prior to UTSA:Appeared in seven games for the Islanders in 2019... pitched 6.0 innings total ... had three total strikeouts ... allowed just two earned runs on the season ... had scoreless outings against UT Arlington (2/16), UH Victoria (3/20 & 4/9), Stephen F. Austin (4/20) and at McNeese (5/10). 

High School:  Posted a 10-1 mark with a 1.81 ERA and an 0.818 WHIP, with 53 strikeouts and 12 walks in 69.2 innings of work … named all-district pitcher and helped his team make it to the state semifinals and win the Regional Championship.

Personal: Son of Greg and Lisa Malone … has a sister, Lauren, who has committed to Coastal Carolina to play volleyball.
