Antonio Valdez Season 2023

Prior to UTSA
Baylor (2020-22): As a third-year sophomore at Baylor, he hit .281 with 20 runs, three home runs and 22 RBI. He played in 42 games with 30 starts in 2021. As a junior in 2022, he played in 39 games and made 19 starts. He earned Academic All-Big 12 Second Team in 2022 and ended the season with a seven-game hitting streak with the Bears.
 
San Jacinto Junior College (2019-20): In a COVID-shortened sophomore season, he hit .352 with a home run, 36 runs, 23 RBI, seven doubles, seven triples and 10 stolen bases. 
 
UIW (2018-19): coached by Pat Hallmark and Ryan Aguayo in their stint with the Cardinals … during his freshman year, he hit .302 while starting all 55 games… he recorded four home runs, 52 runs, 31 RBI, 14 doubles, six triples and 10 stolen bases in his freshman year… he was named to the All-Southland Conference Second Team… was named Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American.
 
High School: Attended Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Texas… played baseball under coach Orlando Ruiz… graduated Summa Cum Laude… was in the fishing club and Spanish honors society.
 
Personal: Son of Charlotte and Lupe Valdez… has two siblings, Mia and Miguel… earning his graduate certificate in project management.
