Appeared in 50 games, including 43 starts, in first season with the Roadrunners … hit .297 (47 of 158) with six doubles, one triple, four home runs and 14 RBIs … scored 23 runs and drew 11 bases on balls … posted 14 multi-hit contests … had four games with three hits … was 3 for 3 with a double, a homer and one RBI at Marshall (March 18) … a day later in the series finale against the Thundering Herd, he was 3 for 3 again … had a three-hit game in the series opener at Rice on April 28 … tallied three knocks and scored a pair of runs at Incarnate Word on May 10.

Played two seasons behind the plate at Midland College and helped the Chaparrals to a Western Junior College Athletic Conference title in 2016 … as a sophomore, batted a .406 clip with 54 hits, 11 doubles, 22 homers, 63 RBIs, 38 runs scored and 19 walks … in series against Claredon, Beam registered 18 RBIs with six home runs over a four game span … played prep career at Hutto High School where he earned three letters in baseball … earned first team all-district honors as a sophomore and senior and second team all-district recognition as a junior … helped the Hutto Hippos to a district crown during junior campaign while earning a playoff berth all four years.
