Made an appearance in three games for the Roadrunners but was essential in each of his at-bats … first collegiate appearance was a pinch-hit at-bat against Louisiana Tech (4/30) in the second game of the doubleheader and led off the inning with a infield single … in that same game, UTSA batted around and Whalen doubled to score three runs and ended the game going 2-for-2 with a run, double and three RBIs … in his next appearance against Charlotte (5/13), the San Antonio product went 1-for-1 with a run, RBI and double … made his first start against Middle Tennessee (5/21) and went 1-for-4 … batted .571 for the season with an .857 slugging percentage and .571 on base percentage.
