Competed in 25 games, including 23 starts, and missed most of the year due to an arm injury … was leading the nation in hits prior to his injury … played the first 21 games of the campaign and returned to see action in four in May … batted .354 in 96 at-bats with five doubles, a triple, two home runs and nine RBIs … scored 25 runs and stole eight bases … also reached base at a .422 clip and slugged .490 … recorded 11 multi-hit contests, including five three-hit games … named Southland Conference Hitter of the Week after batting .591 (13-for-22) with 12 runs scored, two doubles, a triple, one RBI and three stolen bases in five games … also slugged .773 and reached base at a .654 clip during the week … had a season-long 10-game hitting streak (2/19-3/4) where he saw his batting average rise 153 points to .510 … during the streak he hit .548 with 16 runs scored, two doubles, a triple, one homer, five RBIs and stole four bases … he also slugged .714 and reached base at a .596 clip in those 10 games.

Recorded one of the top freshman seasons in program history … became the fifth player in program history to be named Freshman All-America after earning the nod from Collegiate Baseball … earned honorable mention All-Southland honors … one of only two players to start all 59 games … as the everyday leadoff hitter, he batted .337 wth 42 runs, 15 doubles, three triples, two home runs and 32 RBIs … added a team-high 16 stolen bases … his 86 hits were third-most among all NCAA freshmen (also UTSA frosh record) … set program record with 255 at-bats … led team with 25 multi-hit games, including 11 of the three-hit variety … reached base in a team-high 36 consecutive games … posted a 13-game hitting streak (3/18-4/8), in which he batted .458 (27-for-59) with six doubles, two triples, one home run and 10 RBIs … registered at least one hit in each of his first six games … tied program record with four stolen bases against Louisiana-Monroe (2/20) … went 4-for-4 against Texas Tech (4/5) … posted team-high 10 outfield assists.

Four-year starter at shortstop and at pitcher for head coach Joseph Turner … named District 15-2A Most Valuable Player, first-team all-Johnson County and all-state … hit .536 with 10 doubles, five triples and 21 RBIs as a senior … tabbed Johnson County and District 15-2A Co-MVP in basketball … named Johnson County Offensive MVP and District 15-2A MVP and in football after passing for 1,780 yards and 26 touchdowns and rushing for 1,916 yards while scoring 26 touchdowns … earned academic all-state in basketball and football.
