DURHAM, N.C.– The Kay Yow Cancer Fund officially recognized UTSA women’s basketball senior Praise Egharevba as a Kay Yow Servant Leader on Wednesday.
Each year, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund honors student-athletes who exemplify leadership, selflessness, and service in the fight against all cancers affecting women.
Egharevba will be given a special Servant Leader patch that she’ll wear on her game jerseys, symbolizing her commitment to service and her connection to Coach Yow’s enduring legacy.
Nominated by coaches and selected by the organization, over 60 student-athletes have been recognized across NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III and junior college programs. One will be named Servant Leader of the Year, with a $25,000 grant given in their name to a local healthcare provider at the end of the season.
