WACO, Texas – On Friday, UTSA Women’s Tennis continued its stay at the 2026 ITA Texas Regional Championship. All eight Roadrunners hit the court in doubles action as the five-day tournament rolled on from Hurd Tennis Complex, hosted by Baylor. Newcomer Gabriela Felix da Silva remains as the lone Roadrunner in the main singles draw, still awaiting her Round of 16 matchup against UTRGV.
To open doubles play, Aoka Nagasawa and Akari Tomoyose paired up against a duo from Texas State. The ‘Runners fell 6-8 to their I-35 rivals. Celine Absawi and Diana Khaydarshina then teamed up for a battle with UT Arlington. The international duo picked up UTSA’s lone win on Friday by an 8-4 margin, advancing to the Round of 32. There, SMU flipped the score, handing Absawi and Khaydarshina a 4-8 defeat.
Katsiaryna Dubik then coupled with fellow newcomer Gabriela Felix da Silva, the lone Roadrunner still in the main singles draw. There, they fell 3-8 to North Texas, leaving Giuliana Giardina and Laia Tarazona Peyro. The pair of returners dropped a matchup against Tarleton State by a 5-8 score.

The tournament continues with more action on Saturday from Hurd Tennis Complex. Felix da Silva takes on Juana Gomez Weiss of UTRGV, but the matchup has yet to be scheduled. Live results can be found at goutsa.com/wtenstats.
