SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will continue its fall season at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate, which is set for Oct. 2-4 at University of Denver Golf Club in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
The Roadrunners will bring a lineup consisting of Lauren Rios, Lydia Lin, Kayla Black, Yiwei Zhao and Victoria Schuldt, while Maria Bastarrica will play as an individual.
UTSA will line up against Boise State, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Hawai’i, Long Beach State, Northern Colorado, Notre Dame, Oregon State, Texas State, Tulane, UNLV, Wyoming and Xavier.
The field will play 18 holes each day. Live scoring will be provided at scoreboard.clippd.com.
The Roadrunners are coming off a 10th-place finish at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational on Sept. 21-22 in Aurora, Ontario. Black led the way by tying for 44th (83-76-77—236) in her season debut.
This will mark the second straight year and fourth time overall that UTSA has competed in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate. Last October, Schuldt tied for 15th with an even-par 216 (70-70-76) to lead the Roadrunners to seventh place. UTSA placed third in 2017 and eighth in 2018.
Among golfers who have played in both previous tournaments this fall, Rios has a team-best 74.83 stroke average over six rounds. The fifth-year senior from Coppell, Texas, opened the campaign by firing a 5-under 211 (75-69-67) to finish 15th at The Bruzzy.
Schuldt has averaged 76.33 strokes across six rounds and owns the top finish and 54-hole score on the squad after the sophomore earned a share of her first collegiate victory with a 10-under 206 (68-67-71) at The Bruzzy.
Lin made her UTSA debut memorable by carding an 8-under 208 (67-70-71) to place eighth at The Bruzzy, while Zhao posted an even-par 216 (72-73-71) to tie for 30th at that same event.
Bastarrica has played in both tournaments and registered her top finish of 51st with a 226 (76-77-73) at The Bruzzy.
