SAN ANTONIO – The Roadrunners opened their 2026 fall slate over the weekend, visiting St. Mary’s across town. UTSA had seven representatives at the tournament, including all five returning members. The field consisted of student-athletes from UTSA, St. Mary’s (TX), Texas Wesleyan, Our Lady of the Lake and UIW.
In total, four ‘Runners advanced to their respective flight finals in singles before inclement weather ended the event early. The duo of Akari Tomoyose and Aoka Nagasawa were prepped for their finals bout as a doubles duo in the gold flight as well. Notably, in Flight B of singles play, Celine Absawi and Giuliana Giardina were destined for an all-UTSA finals matchup from Rohrbach Stadium Tennis Complex.

UTSA heads east to the Bayou City for Rice’s Fall Invitational. The three-day event commences on Friday, Sept. 25 and will wrap up with finals action on Sunday, Sept. 27.
