IRVING, Texas — Officials from the American Conference and ESPN announced Monday that UTSA’s league opener at Rice on Saturday, Oct. 3, has been selected for an ESPN+ broadcast with a kickoff time of 6 p.m. in Houston.
This will mark the 14th meeting between the Roadrunners and Owls in a series UTSA leads, 9-4. In the last matchup, UTSA piled up a program record for points in a 61-13 home triumph on Oct. 11, 2025. The series is deadlocked at 3-3 in games played at Rice Stadium with the Owls slipping past the Roadrunners late for a 29-27 win on Oct. 12, 2024, in the Bayou City.
The Roadrunners (2-1) will close out the nonconference slate this Saturday, Sept. 26, against Colorado State (2-1) at the Alamodome. That contest is set for an 11 a.m. kickoff on ESPNU.
