SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA men’s tennis team is set to open competition at the 2026 Jake Frederick Memorial Islander Open on Friday, with the event running until Sunday at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center on the campus of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Six Roadrunners will take the court in the Coastal Bend, with junior Enzo Vargas and sophomore Timeo Bretin and Maximilian Ontiveros representing the returners. Newcomers Gabriel Jalouneix, Joel Hansson, and Dmitri Goubin are all set to make their UTSA debuts. The sextet will all battle in open singles, while the doubles tandems of Vargas and Bretin, Ontiveros and Goubin, and Hansson and Jalouneix compete.
