CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The final UTSA soccer team exhibition matchup ended in a scoreless draw on Saturday afternoon at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s Dugan Family Soccer Stadium, heading into the official opener of the 2026 season.
Against the Islanders, the Roadrunners rotated their lineups heavily from Wednesday’s exhibition with Texas, making eight changes from the previous starting lineup and sending 22 players into action – including all three goalkeepers. During the three 30-minute periods of Saturday’s exhibition, first-year players rung up 81.4 percent of UTSA’s minutes, while UTSA controlled possession percentage 56-44, spent 58 percent of its time in TAMU-CC’s half and held the Islanders to a single shot on goal in the clean sheet – saved by Jaelyn Bracamonte.
Redshirt sophomore forward Ava Jackson paced the Roadrunners’ offense, logging three of UTSA’s seven shots with two on-target chances.

UP NEXT: The next one is the real deal and the 2026 campaign couldn’t start with a bigger matchup, as UTSA hosts Texas State in the Battle for I-35 at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the Park West Athletics Complex. The home team has claimed the last two in the tightly contested series with the past six meetings decided by a single goal.
