SAN ANTONIO — UTSA Athletics has announced its 2026 Hall of Fame Class featuring five former standout student-athletes.
The 2026 class will be made up of Leonard Byrd (track & field), Ryanne DuPree (track & field), Tamara Luckemeyer (volleyball), Teresa Neighbors (track & field) and Jessica Rogers (softball).
The 2026 UTSA Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on Friday, Nov. 13, and the group will be honored at other events that weekend, including on the field during the football game against North Texas the following day at the Alamodome.

This marks the fourth class to be inducted into the UTSA Athletics Hall of Fame presented by BMW of San Antonio. The inaugural class of McKenzie Adams (volleyball, women’s basketball), Devin Brown (men’s basketball), Marcus Davenport (football) and Tameka Roberts (track & field, women’s basketball), as well as former head football coach Larry Coker and former athletics director Lynn Hickey, was inducted in 2023.
The 2024 class included Derrick Gervin (men’s basketball), Monica Gibbs (women’s basketball), Michael Rockett (baseball), Starlite Williams (women’s basketball, track & field) and Teddy Williams (men’s track & field).
Fabiola Arriaga (women’s golf), Rudy Davalos (administration), Amanda Michalsky (softball) and Mark Schramek (baseball) were inducted in October 2025.
UTSA Athletics 2026 Hall of Fame Class
Leonard Byrd (Track & Field • 1994-97)
A three-time All-American and eight-time conference champion, Leonard Byrd is one of the most decorated UTSA men’s track & field student-athletes of all time. A San Antonio Marshall High School product, he was a standout quarter-miler for the Roadrunners from 1994 to 1997 who was tabbed 1995 Southland Conference Outdoor Outstanding Track Performer and 1996 Southland Conference Outdoor Athlete of the Year. He claimed gold in the 400 meters at the 1994 Southland Indoor Championships and again at the league’s outdoor meet his true freshman campaign, starting a run of four consecutive conference crowns in that event. He also captured the indoor 400m title in 1997 and helped the 4x400m relay team to first place at the 1995 Southland Outdoor Championships and at the 1997 Southland Indoor meet. Nationally, Byrd finished third in the 400m at the 1996 NCAA Outdoor Championships and earned seventh place in the event at both the 1995 and 1997 NCAA Outdoor. A qualifier for the 1996 U.S. Olympic Trials, Byrd still holds the UTSA 400m record of 44.88.
Ryanne DuPree (Track & Field • 2004-07)
One of the most decorated Roadrunners in any sport, Ryanne DuPree made her mark in the multi-events and hurdles from 2004 to 2007. The San Antonio East Central High School graduate earned four All-America certificates during her storied UTSA career, finishing fourth in the pentathlon at the 2006 NCAA Indoor Championships and notching three top-eight national finishes in the heptathlon outdoors. She took sixth place with 5,773 points at the 2007 NCAA Outdoor, finished seventh in 2004 and eighth in 2005. A member of the Southland Conference Hall of Honor, she struck gold nine times at league meets, winning the 100m hurdles three times, the heptathlon and pentathlon twice each, and the long jump and 4x100-meter relay once apiece. She swept the Southland Outdoor Athlete of the Year, Outstanding Track Performer and High Point Scorer titles in both 2005 and 2007 and was the 2006 Southland Indoor Athlete of the Year and High Point Scorer. A 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier, she still holds school records in four different events.
Tamara Luckemeyer (Volleyball • 1997-2000)
A star on and off the volleyball court for UTSA from 1997 to 2000, Tamara Luckemeyer was a two-time Southland Conference Player of the Year and a two-time Academic All-American. In 1999, the Katy, Texas, native helped lead the Roadrunners to a 22-7 overall record and the Southland Regular Season Championship with an 18-2 mark. A year later, she helped guide UTSA to a 24-9 record and the Southland Tournament title, earning tournament MVP honors and helping the program to its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament. A four-time all-conference performer, she earned first-team accolades in 1998 and 1999 and second-team honors in 1997 and 2000. She finished her career with school records for kills in a season (567) and career (2,034). An excellent student, she was a four-time Southland Scholar-Athlete of the Year, a 1999 Academic All-American and the 2000 Academic All-American of the Year in the University Division for Volleyball.
Teresa Neighbors (Track & Field • 1986-90)
One of the early stars of the UTSA women’s track & field program, Teresa Neighbors was a two-time All-American in the sprints. Racing for the Roadrunners before the sport was competing in a conference, the 1998 U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier finished 10th in the 100 meters with a time of 11.57 seconds at the 1989 NCAA Outdoor Championships, earning All-America status in the process. The following year, she tied for third place in the 55m at the 1990 NCAA Indoor Championships, speeding to a 6.74 clocking that remains the fastest time recorded by a Roadrunner. Her bronze medal in that race garnered her a second All-America certificate and also still gives her a share of the highest women’s national indoor finish in school history. A hall of famer at Converse Judson High School, she set numerous UTSA standards before embarking on a stellar postcollegiate career that included winning numerous medals at USA Championships and international appearances with USA World Championship teams.
Jessica Rogers (Softball • 2003-07)
A record-setting power hitter from 2003-07, Jessica Rogers was a key member of the UTSA softball team that captured the first conference championship and made the first NCAA postseason appearances in program history. A native of Grand Prairie, Texas, she earned first-team All-Southland Conference honors and was a three-time NFCA All-South Region selection. She swept Southland Player of the Year and Hitter of the Year accolades in 2005, pacing the NCAA in home runs per game (0.38) while leading the Roadrunners to a 42-18 record and the regular season title with a 21-5 mark. The year prior, she helped guide UTSA to a 37-win campaign and a sweep of the regular season and tournament crowns, leading the squad into an NCAA regional for the first time. An excellent student, she was a two-time first-team Academic All-American (2005, 2007), a three-time Southland Conference Student-Athlete of the Year and a 2007 Senior CLASS finalist. She ended her career as the Southland and UTSA record holder in several offensive categories and established single-season marks for home runs (23) and RBIs (64) in 2005.
The UTSA Athletics Hall of Fame Selection Committee is made up of designees from the UTSA Alumni Association Board, Letterwinners Club, Roadrunner Foundation and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, as well as representatives from the university and athletics department along with local print and electronic media.
