SAN ANTONIO – The 2026 UTSA cross country season is officially set to begin on Tuesday as the ‘Runners head across town for the Sam Musgrave UIW Twilight. Competition at the Classics Elite Soccer Complex will begin at 8:50 p.m., with the women competing in the 4k, and the men’s 6k is slated for 9:15 p.m.
UTSA will be joined by host school UIW, Blinn, Our Lady of the Lake, Texas A&M-San Antonio, Texas Lutheran, Texas State and Trinity at the event.
The women’s squad will feature a wealth of newcomers, with Kira Albino, Isabel Burke, Joule Cavazos, Ana Garza, Cadence Harris, Haley Hill, Lexi Long, Alexia Rosas and Ryland Ross-Jurado all set to make their collegiate cross country debuts. Joining them, senior Gracie Ortiz will see her first action as a Roadrunner since transferring from Cameron, where she ran personal bests of 19:54.9 in the 5k and 24:19.5 in the 6k.
For the men, returners include junior Cortlin Salge, as well as sophomores Austin Lyda and David Zuniga. Matthew Cato, Zac Mangum, Murff McLaughlin, Christian Meiners, Thomas Tamayo and Andruw Villa will all be debutants.
