Former UTSA standout named to All-UFL Team

ARLINGTON, Texas — Former UTSA standout and current Louisville Kings cornerback Corey Mayfield Jr. has been named to the All-United Football League (UFL) Team for his performance this season.

Mayfield was one of four defensive backs chosen to the all-league team, which was selected by a panel of media members, broadcast partners and coaches and team football personnel from all eight teams. He recorded four interceptions — tied for the most in the UFL — and six pass breakups, giving him a league-best 10 passes defended during the regular season. He also registered 22 total tackles, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery over nine games, helping lead the Kings to the playoffs, which start on Saturday against St. Louis in a game that will be televised by FOX at 5 p.m. CT.

Mayfield previously played for the San Antonio Brahmas in 2024 and 2025, logging 44 tackles, two PBUs, one interception and a forced fumble over 20 regular season contests.

A three-time all-conference performer, Mayfield played for UTSA from 2018 to 2022. He helped the Roadrunners to a pair of Conference USA Championships, three bowl games and the program’s first-ever top-25 ranking.

As a senior, the Forney, Texas, native posted 63 tackles (50 unassisted), three interceptions and 13 PBUs en route to first-team all-league accolades and a spot on the Dave Campbell's Texas Football All-Texas College Second Team. The son of former NFL defensive lineman Corey Mayfield, he was an honorable mention all-conference selection in 2020 and 2021.
