SAN ANTONIO – Ninth-year UTSA soccer head coach Derek Pittman officially announced on Thursday the Roadrunners’ full 18-game schedule for the 2026 season. The campaign will include 11 home contests at the Park West Athletics Complex and a total of 14 dates inside the Lone Star State. The defending American Conference Champion Roadrunners are heading into their fourth season in the league with an exciting field for the 2026 schedule. Season tickets are on sale now for $70 (including fees).
The Roadrunners are coming off their most successful season since joining the American, sweeping through the conference tournament last fall to earn the program’s third conference title overall and the second under Pittman – in addition to another appearance in the NCAA Championships. Pittman’s contract was extended through 2030 this spring after UTSA finished 10-6-6 overall, boasting a record of 4-3-3 in American play and 5-3-2 at home at Park West to claim UTSA’s first American crown. UTSA finished tied for third in the American for the highest conference finish in program history and secured 10 wins for the third time in the last five seasons.
Across the past five years, UTSA has captured two conference titles, made two NCAA appearances and produced a 47-31-21 record for a .581 winning percentage. After setting the school attendance record in two of the past three seasons, Roadrunner fans have shown up for the squad and proven to be difference-makers. UTSA holds a stout win rate at home, taking 66.7 percent (26-11-8) of games since 2020 at Park West.
“Last year’s conference championship was a tremendous accomplishment,” Pittman said, “and our team is hungry for what’s next. We intentionally built a schedule that will challenge us from the opening match and help us continue raising the standard for UTSA soccer. Competing against top programs on the road, renewing rivalries and facing strong non-conference opponents will test our character and prepare us for the demands of conference play. Our players and staff are excited for the challenge and we’re looking forward to another season of growth, competition and chasing championships.”
Following the completion of exhibition competition in the opening days of August, UTSA will come firing out of the gate with a big one to kick off the season with the Battle for I-35. Texas State comes to Park West on Wednesday, Aug. 12, with the Bobcats fresh off a 10-4-7 season, an NCAA tournament berth and a Sun Belt Tournament title. TXST leads the very hotly contested series at 6-4-2, with the home team winning each of the past two meetings.
It doesn’t slow down for the Roadrunners, who will close the week on the road with a return game to Fort Worth to face TCU, Sunday, Aug. 16. Last season, the ninth-ranked Horned Frogs slipped past UTSA at Park West on an 81st-minute score for the 1-0 win. TCU went on to the Big 12 regular season title, an 18-3-3 record and a run to the NCAA College Cup semifinal in Kansas City. TCU finished last season at No. 4 in the final national standings.
Back to Park West on Thursday, Aug. 20, the Roadrunners will host the return game with Colorado College after posting a scoreless draw with the Tigers in Colorado Springs last August – beginning a historic UTSA nine-game unbeaten streak that extended into late October. The Tigers finished 5-6-7 after a challenging run in Mountain West play. On the back end of a two-game homestand, the Roadrunners will host crosstown opposition from St. Mary’s on Sunday, Aug. 23. Last year, UTSA downed the Rattlers, 3-0, and StMU went on to a 9-6-3 finish.
Texas Southern at Park West will close out the month on Thursday, Aug. 27. UTSA will face the Tigers for the first time since the 2022 Conference USA Championship season and look to extend a 7-0 all-time series lead. A prominent team in the Southwestern Athletic Conference in each of the past three seasons, TSU went 8-7-4 a year ago to follow its 2024 SWAC regular season championship.
The new month opens on the road, Thursday, Sept. 3, in Commerce, Texas, visiting East Texas A&M (formerly Texas A&M-Commerce) for the first time since 2022. Last September, UTSA defeated the Lions, 3-0, at Park West and leads the series 3-0. ETAMU went 7-8-4 in 2025.
The following Thursday, Sept. 10, will see UIW visit the Roadrunners after the local San Antonio squads met on the neutral pitch at Toyota Field in each of the past two seasons with consecutive 1-0 UTSA wins. The Cardinals went 4-8-4 a year ago and this will be the first regular-season meeting between these teams at Park West.
The non-conference slate closes up on Thursday, Sept. 17, at Park West with a traditional powerhouse visiting San Antonio in a first series meeting. The 2020 National Champion and perennial NCAA qualifier, Santa Clara saw a down season at 8-6-5 last year in their first campaign without double-digit wins since 2008.
Beginning the quest to defend its tournament title, UTSA opens American Conference play seven days later with back-to-back North Carolina road matchups. On Thursday, Sept. 24, the Roadrunners head to Greenville to face East Carolina. The Pirates tied for sixth in the league and downed UTSA 2-1 last year at Park West, going on to a 6-8-4 season. UTSA got the 2-0 road win in their 2024 trip to Greenville and the series is split at 1-1. On Sunday, Sept. 27, UTSA heads to Charlotte after posting draws in the last two meetings with the 49ers. Charlotte finished second in the regular-season standings and 10-6-2 overall – the series couldn’t be more even, entering 2026 at 3-3-3.
The Roadrunners get a growing rivalry for their home American opener, as Rice visits Park West on Thursday, Oct. 1 – seeing a 1-1 draw last year in Houston while the Owls were receiving votes. Rice finished the season tied for sixth in the American, 10-4-6 overall and the perennial power Owls hold a 13-4-1 lead in the series. However, the last victory went to the Roadrunners, defeating Rice 1-0 in overtime of the American Championships final in Lakewood Ranch, Florida last November.
A tough opportunity opens October’s road slate, as UTSA travels to South Florida on Thursday, Oct. 8, after downing the Bulls 2-1 at Park West in 2025 for the program’s first win over USF. The Bulls tied for sixth in the American and went 9-8-3 last year. The last four meetings between these teams have all been decided by a single goal.
Another big rematch from the conference tournament closes out the week, as UAB comes to Park West on Sunday, Oct. 11, with the Blazers’ 7-6-6 season ending on an opening-round loss to the Roadrunners in Florida, 2-1. UAB finished tied for third in the 2025 American standings and the last meeting in Birmingham produced a 1-1 draw. The Blazers lead the series 4-3-3 and will visit San Antonio for the first time since 2021.
Finishing last season tied with UAB and UTSA at third in the American on a 9-6-5 record, Tulsa comes to Park West on Thursday, Oct. 15, as UTSA is looking to capture its first home win in the short series. The Golden Hurricane came out on top last season in Tulsa, 2-0.
On Thursday, Oct. 22, the Roadrunners are at three-time defending regular season American Champion Memphis. The Tigers grabbed a 2-0 win last year at Park West in the first-ever head-to-head meeting that was not a one-goal game. However, the Roadrunners delivered with the season on the line in Florida, moving past the third-ranked Tigers on penalty kicks in the American semifinal. The Tigers logged a 17-1-3 record and were 18th in the final national standings. The week closes at Park West with Temple coming to Texas on Sunday, Oct. 25. The Owls fell to UTSA 3-1 last year in Philadelphia and ended the season at 4-15.
A huge rivalry game is set for the road finale, as UTSA travels to North Texas on Friday, Oct. 30, after besting the Mean Green last September at home, 1-0. UNT had a rare 6-10-4 finish to its season. Another long-standing series, UNT leads 8-6-1, including a 1-1-1 record since both teams joined the American.
The regular season and home finale is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 3, hosting Florida Atlantic at Park West after downing the Owls 2-1 in 2025. The Owls ended the season at 4-12-3, with UTSA leading the series 4-2-4 and the Owls not claiming a win since 2019.
Following the 10-game conference slate for the Roadrunners, the American Conference Championship will be hosted for the fourth consecutive season at the Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, Nov. 9-15. The NCAA Tournament is set to kick off Nov. 19 at campus sites and run through the 2026 NCAA College Cup, hosted at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina, Dec. 11-14.
UTSA soccer season tickets are on sale now. All tickets are general admission and can be purchased for $70 (including fees). Season ticket holders in 2026 will receive a thank you gift from the team and have access to exclusive team activities, including a team practice, lunch and post-game autograph session.
