LEWISVILLE, Texas — UTSA running back Will Henderson III and kicker Michael Petro have been named to the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Preseason All-Texas College Second Team, the publication announced this week.
Henderson rushed for 866 yards and six touchdowns on 125 attempts, good for an average of 6.9 yards per carry in 2025 and caught 19 passes for 132 yards and a pair of TDs. A redshirt sophomore from Gilmer, Texas, he tallied the second-most rushing yards in a season by a freshman in UTSA history, logging three 100-yard games in the process. He piled up a season-high 185 yards and a score on 19 totes, an average of 9.7 yards per attempt, in the 28-7 road victory over Charlotte. He followed that with 146 yards on 19 carries in the 58-24 home triumph over East Carolina. He recorded his first career 100-yard game with 115 and two TDs on just five rushes in the 61-13 home win against Rice
Petro, a redshirt junior out of Flower Mound Marcus High School, emerged as UTSA’s primary place-kicker in 2025. He made 17 of 20 field goals (85%) and all 56 extra-point attempts, scoring a team-high 107 points, which ranks third on the program’s single-season list. He was 3 of 4 from 40-plus yards and he peeled off a stretch of 10 consecutive made field goals during the campaign. He made a season-long 45-yard field goal and a program-record eight PATs in the 61-13 home triumph over Rice. He ended the season with six straight makes, including from 37 and 36 yards in the 57-20 win over FIU in the First Responder Bowl.
