AUSTIN, Texas – UTSA has placed six student-athletes on the 2025-26 Academic All-District Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
All representatives of the UTSA women’s team, making repeat appearances for the Roadrunners on the Academic All-District team are juniors Ida Breigan, Nyaluet Diew and Edlin Laur, joined by first-time honorees Lauralyn Clifford, Selma Ims and Mia Lien.
Wrapping yet another outstanding year for the Roadrunners, Breigan (Frederikstad, Norway) earned her fifth All-America certificate after finishing 15th in the long jump on June 11th at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon for the Second Team nod at 6.34m (20-9.75). It was her second accolade of the season, collecting First Team All-America honors at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville Arkansas on an eighth-place finish at 6.35m (20-10). A CSC Third Team Academic All-American in 2024-25, Breigan has earned a 3.78 grade point average (GPA) in Cyber Security at UTSA. This season, Breigan was indoor and outdoor American Conference long jump champion, earning her third straight indoor crown and second consecutive outdoor title. She ranked third among national outdoor performances with a 6.71m (22-0.25) measurement and was ninth indoor at 6.52m (21-4.75). Among the most athletically decorated women’s Roadrunners, Breigan has twice been named to the American All-Academic and USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams – and is set to repeat honors on both teams. The indoor (6.58m/21-7.25) and Outdoor (6.74m/22-1.5) long jump record-holder at UTSA, she also captured the Norwegian and American Conference indoor standards. Earning American Freshman of the Year indoor and outdoor in 2024, Breigan garnered the American’s Indoor and Outdoor Championships Most Outstanding Field Performance honors in 2025, repeating as indoor MOP in 2026. She’s also a fixture on the women’s 4x400-meter relay, anchoring the squad to a 2025 indoor runner-up conference finish and the 2026 American title – securing both the UTSA indoor (3:36.32) and outdoor records (3:33.63). She has appeared three times on the UTSA Honor Roll, twice on UTSA Dean’s List and once on UTSA President’s List in her three-year career with the Roadrunners.
An outdoor-only graduate transfer from Coastal Carolina in her lone season with the Roadrunners, Clifford quickly made her mark at UTSA. Raised in Toronto, Ontario, she maintained her perfect academic standing in San Antonio, registering a 4.00 in her business graduate coursework this year, while also reaching the NCAA West meet after capturing the American Conference hammer throw title and resetting the UTSA and Sain Lucia national records numerous times before capping the year on a 60.72m (199-2) at the American Outdoor Championships. Clifford ranked 32nd in the South Central Region in the event. Slated for American and USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, Clifford appeared twice on the UTSA President’s List.
Earning her second Academic All-District honor as a junior in her second season with the Roadrunners, Diew holds a 3.70 cumulative GPA as a double-major in economics and public administration. Originally hailing from South Sioux City, Nebraska, Diew pushed the UTSA indoor shot put record to 16.17m (53-0.75) with a silver-medal performance at the 2026 American Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Alabama, where she also garnered fourth place in the weight throw. Diew was second at the American Outdoor Championships in the shot put as well and qualified for the NCAA West First Round for the second consecutive year as a Roadrunner. In her first season at UTSA, she gathered indoor and outdoor American shot put titles. This season, Diew was ranked fourth in the South Central Region (44th nationally) on her record-setting indoor championships performance, going 14th regionally in the weight throw with a season-best 17.56m (57-7.5). Outdoors, Diew ranked 24th in the West at 16.15m (53-0) to earn conference shot put silver. She registered USTFCCCA and American All-Academic accolades in her first season with the program, and has appeared on the UTSA Honor Roll three times.
Making a notable impact with her first Academic All-District appearance, Sandnes, Norway sophomore Ims was UTSA’s high scorer at the American Outdoor Championships, leading the Roadrunners to a second-place team finish – the highest team finish in UTSA’s American era. Sporting a 3.95 cumulative GPA in economics, Ims led off the 4x400m relay to a UTSA record (3:33.63) and the conference title, while also recording 400-meter hurdles silver and 100-meter hurdles bronze at the championship meet – making her second appearance at the NCAA West First Round in the 400m hurdles (17th) and on the relay (15th). The Roadrunners’ 100m hurdles record holder and 400m hurdles No. 3, Ims ranked 24th in the South Central Region in the 60-meter hurdles indoor at 8.48 seconds, while going 20th in the West and 35th in the nation in the 400m hurdles (57.27) and 26th regionally in the 100m hurdles (13.30). Ims appeared on the American Conference All-Academic and USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams following her rookie campaign with another round of honors projected. Last year, she was second in the conference 400m hurdles on a career-best 57.13 and second while leading off the 4x400m relay (3:36.27) at American outdoors, while she helped the 4x400m relay to a second-place indoor conference finish in 3:36.32. She has appeared on the UTSA Dean’s List twice and President’s List twice.
Also a repeat honoree, Tallinn, Estonia junior Laur logs a 3.67 cumulative GPA in criminology. Laur has appeared once on the UTSA President’s List, twice on the Dean’s List and once on the Honor Roll, earning USTFCCCA and American All-Academic accolades in each of her first two seasons with the Roadrunners. The UTSA indoor high jump record holder at 1.84m (6-0.5) and indoor No. 2 at 1.82m (5-11.5), Laur won her second American Conference high jump title during the indoor season on her record-setting height. During the outdoor campaign, Laur collected American bronze and made her third appearance at the NCAA West First Round. Laur was fourth in the indoor regional South Central rankings and 20th nationally in the high jump, while also ranking 29th in the West and 41st nationally outdoors in the event. In addition, she ranked 30th (5.85m/19-2.5) in the region indoors and 37th (6.27m/20-7) outdoors in the long jump, as well as 13th (3,830 points) in the region in the indoor pentathlon and 41st in the region in the outdoor heptathlon (5,292 points). Laur was the 2025 AAC outdoor high jump champion and finished fifth indoors. As a freshman, she was fourth at the outdoor conference meet in the high jump and seventh indoors. Her heptathlon top score is fifth in UTSA’s all-time book, and her second-place pentathlon performance at this year’s American Indoor Championships is the third-best in UTSA’s history (3,830 points).
Rounding out the group with her first Academic All-District certificate, redshirt sophomore from Jakobsli, Norway, Lien reached her second NCAA West First Round after finishing fourth in both the high jump and long jump at the American Outdoor Championships and sixth at the American Indoor Championships. Earning a 4.00 cumulative GPA in psychology as the UTSA outdoor high jump record holder at 1.83m (6-0) and indoor No. 2 at the same height, Lien ranked ninth in the South Central Region and 46th nationally on a height of 1.80m (5-10.75), reaching 42nd in the West outdoors at 1.77m (5-9.75). As a freshman in 2024-25, Lien was American Indoor Champion in the pentathlon on a school-record 4,194 points and second in the indoor high jump while sharing the American Most Outstanding Field Performance. She reached the NCAA Indoor Championships in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and earned Second Team All-America honors on a 15th-place 4,031 pentathlon score. During her freshman outdoor season, Lien was second in the American and advanced to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, adding another Second Team All-America certificate with a 13th-place 5,648 heptathlon points. – reaching second on the UTSA heptathlon performances during the year (5,741 points). She earned a spot on both the American All-Academic and USTFCCCA All-Academic teams last year, with another round expected, appearing on the UTSA President’s List six times as a Roadrunner.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on Wednesday, July 15 (women).
