Roadrunners to host Texas in exhibition matchup

SAN ANTONIO – UTSA soccer ninth-year head coach Derek Pittman officially announced on Tuesday the dates of the 2026 season’s opening action for the reigning American Conference Champion Roadrunners. UTSA will hit the pitch with exhibition games against Texas at home and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on the road starting in the first week of August.

With Texas just one season removed from an SEC Championship and UTSA fresh off the 2025 American title, the Roadrunners and Longhorns will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the Park West Athletics Complex. Tickets will be $27 (including taxes and fees) for the general public with an exclusive $12 (including taxes and fees) offering for UTSA soccer season ticket members. All tickets for the Texas exhibition will go on sale June 18 and can be found here. Free entry will be granted to UTSA students, available in their account manager during the week of the exhibition.

“Hosting the Longhorns at Park West is exactly the kind of match that excites our players, fans and the entire San Antonio soccer community,” Pittman said. “It’s an opportunity to measure ourselves against one of the nation’s premier programs while giving our supporters a chance to see elite college soccer right here at home. Help us pack Park West with an electric atmosphere on August 5th and celebrate the continued growth of soccer in our city.”

The Roadrunners will also head out on the road in exhibition play, traveling to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for a 7:30 p.m. matchup on Saturday, Aug. 8 at Dr. Jack Dugan Family Soccer and Track Stadium.

UTSA soccer season tickets are on sale now. All tickets are general admission and can be purchased for $70 (including fees). Season ticket holders in 2026 will receive a thank you gift from the team and have access to exclusive team activities, including a team practice, lunch and post-game autograph session. Season ticket members can also purchase a limited-edition 2025 Championship scarf with their season tickets for an additional $35 at time of purchase (a total price of $105 with ticket fees). To purchase season tickets, click here to order online or call the UTSA Athletics Ticket Office at 210-458-8872 during normal business hours.

The opening contest of the 18-game 2026 regular season is slated for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12 at Park West with the Battle for I-35 against Texas State.
