EUGENE, Ore. – The first of four UTSA track & field student-athletes competed on Wednesday at historic Hayward Field in the 2026 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Opening the Roadrunners’ performances for the week, Martín Kouyoumdjian competed in the 400-meter semifinals.
On the opening day of men’s action at the national championships, the junior Chilean national record-holder Kouyoumdjian ran a time of 46.05 in the second heat of the semifinals, finishing 18th overall in his final race of the season.
The Roadrunners continue on Thursday with the opening day of women’s competition, as junior Ida Breigan (Fredrikstad, Norway) will make her bid for a fifth All-America honor at 8:40 p.m. CT (6:40 p.m. PT). Mission, Texas senior Daisy Monie follows with her first outdoor nationals appearance in the shot put at 9:10 p.m. CT (7:10 p.m. PT). Jemuel Miller will vie for his fourth All-America laurel on Friday at 7:10 p.m. CT (5:10 p.m. PT).
