Quartet of Roadrunners recognized on All-Conference teams

IRVING, Texas—The American Conference announced its 2026 awards winners, with four members of the UTSA Softball program being recognized, headlined by sophomore second baseman Sabrina Wick on the first team.

Also being recognized, junior outfielder Samantha Mundine and pitcher Arlette Hernandez were second-team selections, while Hernandez and catcher Brookelynn Meador cracked the All-Freshman squad. Additionally, four selections represent the most for UTSA since 2022 in CUSA.

Wick batted .357 across league play, dropping three doubles with two home runs and 10 RBIs. She recorded a league-high 11 stolen bases, leading to 14 runs scored, and she also drew two walks. Wick was 10th on the American leader board with 31 hits. She becomes the first Roadrunner first-team pick since joining the American and the first overall since Riley Grunberg and Kat Ibarra did so in 2022.

Mundine topped UTSA and was slotted sixth in the American with a .378 batting average in conference play, also managing four doubles, a triple, five homeruns for a 1.036 OPS and 17 RBIs. She maintained a perfect fielding percentage over 27 games in centerfield.

Hernandez was a workhorse for UTSA, leading the American with 86 strikeouts, was sixth with seven wins, and an opposing batting average of .243 was seventh. She pitched 105.1 innings, slotting her fifth as she maintained a 3.92 ERA over 17 starts with 12 complete games. Hernandez becomes the first Roadrunner pitcher to make an All-Conference team since Haylee Stanton was Third Team All-Southland in 2012.

In her inaugural season behind the plate, Meador shone, hitting the league’s 10th-best batting average at .375, and 33 hits ranked sixth in the conference. She drove in 16 runs for the squad, while scoring 16 times herself with two doubles and four home runs.
