Three Roadrunners reel in all-conference accolades

IRVING, Texas — Daniela Abonce, Lauren Rios and Victoria Schuldt were named to the All-American Conference Team, the league office announced Monday.

UTSA’s three honorees were the second most on the 16-member all-conference team behind league champion Tulsa’s four. With these three accolades, UTSA now has garnered 47 all-conference certificates in its 21-year history, including 19 in nine seasons under head coach Summer Batiste.

Abonce collected her third career all-conference certificate following a senior season that saw her post a 74.7 stroke average and 11 par-or-better scorecards over 33 rounds. The Veracruz, Mexico, native broke 70 twice, including a 7-under-par 65 that helped her tie for fourth place with an 8-under 208 at the Sam Golden Invitational last September. She finished inside the top 15 four times overall and logged her second top 10 of the campaign by tying for seventh at the American Conference Championship last week. Abonce, who was the American Conference individual champion and a first-team all-league performer in 2024 after earning third-team All-Conference USA accolades as a freshman in 2023, finished her career with 43 par-or-better rounds, which places her third on the program’s all-time list. She also recorded a 74.03 stroke average, good for fourth on UTSA’s career chart.

Rios reeled in her first career all-conference award after closing out the best season of her collegiate career by tying for seventh at the American Conference Championship. That marked the second top-10 showing of the season for the Coppell High School product, who tied for third with a 1-under 215 at the Red Raider Invitational last fall. She paced the Roadrunners in 2025-26 with a 74.3 stroke average and logged 10 par-or-better scorecards over 33 rounds. She turned in her top 54-hole total with a 3-under 213 (72-71-70) to tie for 30th at the Sam Golden Invitational, one of six top-30 finishes for the senior.

Schuldt garnered all-conference honors after wrapping up her debut campaign by tying for fifth place with a 3-over 219 (72-73-74) at the American Conference Championship. The true freshman from Hamburg, Germany, was the top freshman finisher at the conference tournament and it marked her third top-15 showing of the season. She registered a 75.64 stroke average and eight par-or-better scorecards over 33 rounds, breaking 70 with a 3-under 69 in the final round of the Chevron Collegiate and with a season-best, 5-under 67 for the first 18 holes of the MountainView Collegiate, where she went on to tie for 11th with a 4-under 212.

That trio helped guide the Roadrunners to third place at the American Conference Championship, their best team finish since joining the league three years ago. It also marked UTSA’s 17th top-five conference finish dating back to 2008, a span of 18 conference tournaments.
