Miller, Breigan earn American Field Athletes of the Week

IRVING, Texas – For the second time this outdoor season, the UTSA Track & Field teams have swept the weekly conference field honors, as Jemuel Miller and Ida Breigan were both named American Conference Field Athlete of the Week for their efforts at the elite 66th Annual Mt. SAC Relays, officials from the league office announced on Tuesday.

Turning in another big-time performance coming down the home stretch of the outdoor season, Bridgetown, Barbados redshirt junior Miller hit 16.25m (53-3.75) in the triple jump elite competition, snapping his own 2024 school record on his third attempt to finish as the second collegiate performer. With that performance, Miller rises up to 11th in the national standings and extends his American Conference lead over the league lineup to 1.13m. This is his second honor of the 2026 outdoor season.

Logging her first weekly honor of the 2026 outdoor season, Fredrikstad, Norway junior Breigan logged another championship-level long jump measurement with her best wind-legal jump of the year. Breigan secured the .01m win in the elite division with a 6.42m (21-0.75) measurement on her fourth pass to edge out Arizona’s Sydney Vanek for her second event victory this outdoor season. Adding another mark to her resume that tops all American Conference jumpers, Breigan leads the league and is No. 3 in the national standings. Breigan also anchored UTSA’s 4x400-meter elite division relay squad that finished seventh but claimed the top time in the American standings. The 3:35.40 was also the third-best time in UTSA history for the event.

While Miller, Breigan and the Roadrunners have no meet on the slate this week, the Roadrunners wrap up the regular season next week with a return to E.B. Cushing Stadium and College Station for Texas A&M’s Alumni Muster, May 1-2. The postseason opens in Denton, Texas, with the American Conference Outdoor Championships to be held at the Mean Green Track & Field Stadium, May 14-16.
