UTSA Athletics Launches 2026 Student T-Shirt Design Contest

UTSA Athletics is excited to announce the 2026-27 Birdcage Student Section T-Shirt Design Contest!

As part of our annual tradition, we're giving our students the chance to make their mark on the game day experience. The official 2026-27 UTSA Birdcage Student Section T-shirt for The Birdcage will be designed by students, for students — and the winning designer will receive a prize!

The winning shirt will be handed out to students at the UTSA home football opener vs. UTRGV on September 5th.

WHO CAN SUBMIT A DESIGN:

  • All currently enrolled UT San Antonio academic campus and health campus students students (undergraduate and graduate)
  • Students must be enrolled in classes for the Spring 2026 semester

    DESIGN REQUIREMENTS:
  • Designs must be digital and submitted as a .JPG, .PNG, or .PDF file (no hand-drawn or scanned designs).
  • Design must include the new student section logo for The Birdcage.
  • Should reflect UTSA Athletics spirit and Roadrunner pride.
  • Must align with the values and mission of UT San Antonio and UTSA Athletics.
  • Include official UTSA Athletics marks and follow all brand guidelines. Logos and brand resources can be found here.
  • Design may use up to two ink colors (white and orange) and will be printed on a navy shirt.
        Orange (#E14504  / Pantone 1665 C)
        White (#FFFFFF)
  • Design is front only.

DESIGN RESTRICTIONS

  • No more than 2 colors (white and orange)
  • No gradients or photo-based designs (flat, solid color prints only)
  • No unofficial UTSA logos or altered marks
  • No profanity, inappropriate symbols or non-UTSA themes

CONTEST RULES:

  • All submitted designs become the property of UTSA Athletics.
  • UTSA Athletics reserves the right to edit or modify the winning design.
  • By submitting, you confirm the design is your original work and does not infringe on any copyrights.
  • Designs that do not meet the official guidelines will be disqualified.

HOW TO ENTER:

JUDGING & VOTING:

  • The winner will be notified May 15 and publicly announced on Monday, May 18.
  • Voting criteria:
         -How well the design captures the energy of the UTSA
         student section
         -Creativity and visual impact
         -Alignment with UTSA spirit and branding
  • Final approval of the winning design is subject to UTSA Athletics’ branding and licensing guidelines.
