SAN MARCOS, Texas – UTSA Women’s Tennis visits Texas State on Friday for a rivalry bout north up I-35. The Roadrunners look to secure their first road win of the season and hand the Bobcats their first home loss this spring. The visitors enter with just two matches remaining in the regular season, looking to finish strong ahead of the American Championship in two weeks.

LAST TIME OUT
UTSA visited UT Arlington on Saturday, falling by a 4-3 margin. Akari Tomoyose, Aoka Nagasawa and Natalia Castaneda Guerrero all clinched singles victories, but the Mavericks’ team win in doubles play proved to be the difference. The ‘Runners dropped to 0-7 away from home this spring, falling by a one-point margin for the third time in 2026.
ABOUT THE BOBCATS
Texas State is under the direction of Head Coach Kendall Brooks, who is amid her fourth season at the helm with the program. The Bobcats posted a program-record 16 wins in 2025 en route to a No. 3 Sun Belt seed. This year, TXST stands at 10-6, most recently taking down Louisiana by a 4-2 margin on the road.

The Roadrunners host Lamar on Saturday, April 11 at 11 a.m. from UTSA Tennis Center.
