TULSA, Okla. – The No. 11 seed UTSA men’s tennis team suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of No. 6 seed and host school Tulsa in the First Round of the American Men’s Tennis Championship on Thursday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
The Roadrunners (5-15) fell to the Golden Hurricane (16-12),as Tulsa started off hot with Victor Tosetto and Gus Tettamble beating sophomore Oskar Grzegorzewski and newcomer Constantin Radu, 6-4, while Nikita Volonski and Timo Carlsson Seger got the better of sophomore Ben Chetewy Ungar and freshman Maximilian Ontiveros, 6-4 to claim the doubles point.
In singles action, Volonski topped Grzegorzewski, 6-1, 6-1, and Reiya Homagata took down freshman Yonatan Sagiv, 6-1, 6-2. Tosetto then sealed the victory with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Chetwey Ungar.
