SAN ANTONIO – With just three meets remaining on the 2026 outdoor track & field schedule the UTSA teams will knock out two of those competitions this week in Southern California. The Roadrunners will compete Thursday, April 16, in Long Beach at the Pacific Coast Invitational and then get to work Friday and Saturday, April 17-18, in Walnut at the prestigious 66th Mt. SAC Relays.
Stretching across the two-meet weekend, 32 Roadrunners (15 women, 17 men) are headed for the Golden State. UTSA has competed in the Mt. SAC Relays in three of the last five years, attending for the third consecutive season. UTSA last competed in the PCI in 2024.
The Roadrunners spent last week in College Station at Texas A&M’s 44 Farms Team Invitational, logging medal-worthy finishes from David Zuniga (1st, 1,500-meter, 3:57.24), Victor Charo (2nd overall and top collegiate, 800-meter, 1:51.65) and Daisy Monie (3rd, shot put, 15.77m/51-9).
Opening this week’s action, four Roadrunner throwers will travel to Long Beach State’s Jack Rose Track for the single-day Pacific Coast Invitational on Thursday, April 16. The hammer throw will open the day at 10 a.m. CT (8 a.m. PT), followed by discus at 3:30 p.m. CT and shot put at 6 p.m. CT.

Competing in the confines of Walnut’s historic Hilmer Lodge Stadium, the Roadrunners will get started on Friday with the collegiate long jump leading off field events at 1 p.m. CT (11 a.m. PT), alongside elite high jump and collegiate triple jump at 6 p.m. CT. The Running events begin Friday on the 100-meter hurdles at 1:25 p.m. CT (11:25 a.m. PT), followed by the 110-meter hurdles at 1:50 p.m. CT, 400-meter at 2:15 p.m. CT, 400-meter hurdles at 4:20 p.m. CT, 200-meter at 5:30 p.m., 800-meter at 6:15 p.m. CT and 1,500-meter at 8:10 p.m. CT.
Saturday’s return to Mt. SAC will see the 110-meter hurdles at 3:55 p.m. CT (1:55 p.m. PT) and 4x400m elite relay at 7:10 p.m. CT on the track, while the throwers will rejoin the squad with an 11 a.m. CT (9 a.m. PT) hammer throw, followed by shot put at 3:30 p.m. CT, alongside long jump elite and high jump elite and triple jump elite at 5:30 p.m. CT.

Up next: Following a week out of action, the Roadrunners will seal up the regular season with a return to E.B. Cushing Stadium and College Station for Texas A&M’s Alumni Muster, May 1-2. The postseason opens in Denton, Texas, with the American Conference Outdoor Championships to be held at the Mean Green Track & Field Stadium, May 14-16.
