WACO, Texas – On Tuesday, UTSA Baseball’s stretch of midweek road bouts continues as the group heads north up I-35. The Roadrunners are set for a trip to Baylor in what will be their second matchup with the Bears this season. The visitors look for their fourth Power Four victory of the campaign and a 2026 sweep of the Big 12 representative.

Then, a Saturday doubleheader saw nine total ejections as UTSA secured its 15th straight series victory in American Conference play before dropping the finale to USF.

Back on March 1, Baylor and UTSA clashed in Houston. The ‘Runners took an 11-6 win over the Bears, sparked by 5.0 shutout innings from Conor Myles on the mound. With the victory, the ‘Runners wrapped up a perfect 3-0 stay at the BRUCE BOLT College Classic, capping off a weekend that also saw wins over Ohio State and No. 9 Coastal Carolina.

On Monday, Connor Kelley was named to the American Conference Player of the Week Honorable Mention list. The junior tossed 6.1 shutout innings across two outings against USF and Tarleton State, allowing just three hits. He tossed the last 5.0 innings of the series opener against USF, retiring 15 of 17 batters faced in his win out of the bullpen.

UTSA ranks inside the nation’s top 30 with 376 hits (24th), a .308 batting average (29th), a .427 on-base percentage (15th), 313 total runs scored (15th), 27 sacrifice flies (third) and 8.7 runs per game (18th), resulting in the country’s 30th best winning percentage (.694).
In 17 of 36 games this season, UTSA has scored at least 10 runs. The group is averaging more than a score per frame, plating 313 runners in 306.1 innings of work. The Roadrunners have hit multiple home runs in nearly 40% of their outings, doing so 14 times this spring.
ABOUT THE BEARS
Baylor is under the direction of fourth-year Head Coach Mitch Thompson, who holds a 95-103 record in his time with the program. The Bears are coming off an 8-3 win in their series finale at Cincinnati, but fell in the first two to the Bearcats. Baylor is 20-15 overall this year, boasting a 13-5 mark in Waco.
