Monie paces final day at 44 Farms Invite

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The UTSA’s track & field teams wrapped up competition on Saturday at E.B. Cushing Stadium, closing out the 44 Farms Team Invitational. For the third consecutive meet, Daisy Monie registered a medal-worthy throwing performance to lead the Roadrunners’ effort.

Late in field event action after a rain delay slowed the second straight day at Cushing Stadium, Kansas State graduate transfer Monie registered her third consecutive medal-worthy performance, hitting 15.77 (51-9) on her third attempt at the shot put, going on to finish third in the 27-woman field.

Following up a strong UTSA distance performance on Friday, Laredo, Texas sophomore Diego Ramirez logged a 9:50.31 clocking in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, earning fifth place.

Up next: Next week will see the Roadrunners leave the Lone Star State for the first time this season, heading to California for the 66th Annual Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., April 15-18. UTSA will see a 12-day gap after the westward swing before the regular season finale back in College Station.
