Regular Season Wraps up at Home

SAN ANTONIO – Roadrunner Women’s Tennis returns to UTSA Tennis Center on Saturday to conclude the spring 2026 campaign. The hosts look to improve on their 8-2 record in San Antonio and head into next week’s American Conference Championship with another win under their belt. On the other side of the net, the Cardinals eye a .500 finish to the regular season ahead of their trip to the Southland Championship next weekend.

THE MATCHUP

Saturday, April 11 (10 a.m.) – Lamar (9-10) at UTSA (8-10)

UTSA Tennis Center – San Antonio, Texas

LAST TIME OUT

The Roadrunners took a trip up I-35 back on Friday, April 3, visiting Texas State for a rivalry matchup. UTSA took a tightly-contested doubles point, but only secured one court of singles play. Natalia Castaneda Guerrero’s point on court five was not enough for the visitors as the Bobcats walked away with a 4-2 victory.

ABOUT THE CARDINALS

Lamar is under the direction of Head Coach David Wong, who is amid his 27th season at the helm with the program. The Cardinals enter the matchup at 9-10, most recently dropping three straight matches by 5-2 margins. Lamar is looking to double its win total from a season ago, when the squad finished 5-18 with a first-round exit from the Southland Conference Championship.

UP NEXT

After their regular-season finale, the Roadrunners will head to Houston. UTSA commences its postseason journey at the American Conference Championship, which will begin on Thursday, April 16. The league will crown a champion from George R. Brown Tennis Center on Sunday, April 19, sending one team to the NCAA Tournament with an automatic bid.
