SAN ANTONIO – UTSA Women’s Tennis hits the court once again on Thursday, welcoming Wichita State for the third installment of a seven-match homestand. The ‘Runners recently hit the midway point of the 2026 campaign and look to maintain their momentum from a recent 2-0 weekend at home. The contest, originally scheduled for Friday, was moved up due to inclement weather forecasted in the area. Ki Kroll’s bunch will square off with the Shockers at the conclusion of the men’s tennis match versus UT Arlington, which begins at 11 a.m.

Thursday, March 5 (approx. 2 p.m.) – Wichita State (10-3) at UTSA (6-5)
LAST TIME OUT
Over the weekend, UTSA hosted both Stephen F. Austin and Tarleton State on Friday and Sunday, respectively. The Roadrunners (6-5) took both contests, climbing back above .500 on the campaign. The group remained perfect at home in 2026, jumping to 6-0 in matches at the UTSA Tennis Center. With the victories, the ‘Runners snapped a four-match losing skid.
ABOUT THE SCHOCKERS
Wichita State is out to a 10-3 start this spring, currently riding an eight-match winning streak. The Shockers have toppled five Power Four programs during the stretch, including three from the Big 12. Most recently, the squad took down Oral Roberts in a 7-0 sweep at home on Saturday. Last year, the squad advanced to the second round of the American Conference Championship before falling to fourth-seeded Tulsa.

UTSA currently sits more than three weeks away from its next scheduled road trip, coming on March 27 at North Texas. Before then, the Roadrunners will still have four more home matches, even following their bout with the Shockers. On Tuesday, UTSA will host SEMO at 11 a.m. from the Alamo City.
