SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA men’s tennis team is back at home this week, first hosting UT Arlington on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the UTSA Tennis Center, ahead of a Saturday, Senior Day matchup with UIW at 11 a.m. at The Dominion Country Club.
The Roadrunners (0-9) will look to bounce back after falling to North Florida and Georgia Southern last week, with sophomore Oskar Grzegorzewski providing a bright spot. Her went 2-0 in singles play, first taking down Andreas Scott in the first flight against the Ospreys, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3, before topping the Eagles’ best in Gregoire Delattre, 6-3, 6-4. The wins allowed him to improve to a team-best 4-4 on the season.
The Mavericks (0-7) aim for their first win of the campaign after falling to Lamar, 5-2, in the most recent match. Novak Ivanovic has been the team's best, boasting a 2-2 mark in singles play, and in doubles, three different combinations have recorded wins.
The Cardinals (5-1) are riding a five-match winning streak, last falling to Texas on Jan. 14. UTSA will also honor senior Luke Cantu as part of the festivities against UIW.
