IRVING, Texas – The Roadrunners captured a weekly conference award right out of the gate, as UTSA track & field junior Edlin Laur has been named American Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week, officials from the league office announced on Tuesday.

Putting in work in four events at the season-opening UTSA Invitational, Laur (Tallinn, Estonia) earned second place in the long jump at 6.27m (20-7), placing her atop the American standings and second in the nation. Laur also added an additional second-place performance in the high jump on a league-leading height of 1.75m (5-8.75), ranking ninth in the NCAA. She also finished seventh in the javelin at 39.69m (130-2) and 10th in the 100-meter hurdles at 14.31 seconds. Laur set career bests in the long jump, javelin and 100m hurdles – ranking in the top 10 of the conference in all four events.
