HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The UTSA softball team suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Sam Houston in nonconference action on Wednesday at the Bearkat Softball Field.
The Roadrunners (17-13) fell to the Bearkats (19-13), as sophomore Reagan Stoudt (4-5) was dealt the loss and Kendall Daniel (6-2) earned the win.
Redshirt sophomore Makayla Madrid drove in the squad's lone run via a solo shot in the top of the second.
SHSU tied things up in the bottom of the third off an RBI double, ahead of a three-run fourth that put them in front. From there, UTSA was unable to spark a comeback, falling 4-1.
The Roadrunners will look to bounce back this weekend, as they host North Texas for a three-game series beginning Friday at 6 p.m.
