SAN ANTONIO – Both making a repeat appearance at the national meet representing UTSA track & field, Roadrunners Jemuel Miller and Ida Breigan begin competition this weekend at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas, March 13-14.
A redshirt junior from Bridgetown, Barbados, Miller is a three-time All-American triple jumper and will make his second career NCAA Indoor Championships appearance after injury precluded his past two indoor seasons. Miller earned his top mark this season on a 16.42m (53-10.5) measurement at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational on Feb. 7 and is fresh off winning the American Conference title in the event for his first American crown, jumping 15.85m (52-0) to earn his third overall career conference indoor title.
Recently breaking his own UTSA record and the Barbados national indoor record with his top mark of this season, Miller will compete in his second career NCAA Indoor Championships. Sidelined with injury over the past two indoor seasons, Miller finished his rookie campaign in 2022 with a sixth-place 16.17m (53-0.75) measurement in Birmingham to earn First Team All-America accolades. Miller also has made two NCAA Outdoor Championships appearances in 2022 (10th) and 2024 (12th) in the triple jump. In a field paced by Texas Tech’s Jonathan Seremes at 16.96m (55-7.75), Miller enters the weekend at ninth on his season- and career-best mark from Don Kirby.
Also a junior for the Roadrunners hailing from Fredrikstad, Norway, Breigan is a three-time All-American long jumper and just won her third consecutive American Conference Indoor Championship with an NCAA-ninth 6.52m (21-4.75) measurement in Birmingham, Alabama. For her efforts, she was announced as the American Conference Women’s Field Most Outstanding Performance Award winner for the third consecutive year.
Set to compete in her third consecutive NCAA Indoor Championships, Breigan opened her career in 2024 with a First Team All-America finish in Boston on a 6.38m (20-11.25) mark, following up last season with a Second Team All-America 10th-place measurement of 6.35m (20-10) in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In a field led by Illinois’ Sophia Beckmon at 6.85m (22-5.75), Breigan is tied for ninth at her season high. Breigan’s career-best indoor measurement is at 6.58m (21-7.25), the standing UTSA, American Conference and Norwegian national records.
The NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held at Arkansas’ Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, running March 13-14. For full championship information, fans can visit the Arkansas NCAA Indoor Championships page. Arkansas will provide live results through FlashResults.
