CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The UTSA softball team suffered a 7-0 defeat at the hands of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in nonconference action on Wednesday at Chapman Field.
The Roadrunners (14-12) fell to the Islanders (6-20) as freshman (8-4) was dealt the loss and Josie Whitehead (2-8) picked up the win. Newcomer Brookelynn Meador and junior Samantha Mundine were the lone ‘Runners to log hits on the afternoon.
Neither team could plate a run until the fifth, as TAMUCC scored all seven of its runs. UTSA was unable to spark the comeback and will now look to bounce back as they host Memphis for a three-game conference series beginning on Friday at 6 p.m.
