SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will head to Las Vegas to compete in the inaugural Lady Luck Invitational, which will be hosted by UNLV on Monday-Tuesday, March 2-3, at Las Vegas Country Club (par 72/6,529 yards).
The Roadrunners will travel a lineup consisting of Lauren Rios, Kayla Black, Daniela Abonce, Victoria Schuldt and Maria Bastarrica for the 54-hole, stroke-play event.
UTSA will be part of a 14-team field that includes seven nationally ranked squads. The Roadrunners will face No. 19 Baylor, BYU, No. 33 Houston, No. 30 Kent State, Nevada, New Mexico, Northern Arizona, No. 28 Oklahoma State, No. 49 Oregon State, Texas State, No. 44 Texas Tech, No. 18 UCF and UNLV.
The field will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday with a 10:30 a.m. CT shotgun start scheduled for each day.

This will mark UTSA’s first trip to Vegas for a tournament since February 2021 at the Rebel Beach Intercollegiate. The Roadrunners finished sixth at that event behind Hannah Holzmann’s ninth-place showing.
The Roadrunners are coming off a 15th-place effort at the Chevron Collegiate last week at the Golf Club of Houston. Rios led the way by tying for 41st with a 3-over-par 219 (73-73-73).
Rios has registered a 73.61 stroke average and six par-or-better rounds this season. The Coppell, Texas, native owns three top-30 finishes highlighted by a tie for third place at the Red Raider Invitational last fall when she carded a 1-under 215 (71-70-74).
Abonce paces the Roadrunners with a 73.22 scoring average and seven par-or-better scorecards, including a pair of sub-70 rounds. The senior from Mexico has placed inside the top 15 three times including a tie for fourth at the Sam Golden Invitational when she fired a 7-under 209 (74-65-69).
Black boasts the third-best average on the team with a 75.17 mark. The true freshman from Canada has turned in seven par-or-better scorecards and a top finish of 26th at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate.
Schuldt is close behind her fellow freshman with a 75.5 stroke average to go along with five par-or-better rounds, highlighted by a collegiate-best 3-under 69 in her last outing at the Chevron Collegiate.
Bastarrica has appeared in three tournaments during her junior campaign and recorded a 76.33 average. The Spaniard logged her top finish of 43rd at the Red Raider Invitational and her best round of 1-over 73 at the Chevron Collegiate last week.
