SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's basketball team is set to host Memphis on Sunday, with an American Conference Senior Day showdown set for 3 p.m. inside the Convocation Center.
Seniors Ereauna Hardaway and Cheyenne Rowe will be honored with a special senior ceremony prior to the game, and fans can receive a free commemorative poster upon entry while supplies last.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU, with Brenda VanLengen and Andrea Lloyd on the call. The Roadrunners (12-14, 7-8 American) will take on the Tigers (9-19, 3-12 American) for the second time this season, last falling, 52-40. Despite the result, Hardaway led the contest in scoring and assists, charting 15 points and seven assists. Rowe finished with eight points and eight boards, while Hardaway collected five rebounds.
Last time out, UTSA lost to North Texas, 87-63, in a contest that saw Hardaway score 19. Against the Mean Green, Rowe tallied 12 points with six boards, and junior Idara Udo snagged nine rebounds to go with six points.
Memphis outlasted East Carolina in their last bout, using double overtime to beat the Pirates, 88-80. Three Tigers average double-digit scoring figures, with Daejah Richmond managing 13.4 points per game, while Tamya Smith logs 11.9 and Chae Harris, 11.7. Smith tops the team with 5.2 rebounds per game, and Richmond facilitates the offense with 97 assists on the season. Defensively, Richmond has swiped 78 steals for the club, and Smith has worked 27 blocks.
