Home Perfection Rolls on With 4-0 Triumph of SFA

SAN ANTONIO – On Friday, UTSA Women’s Tennis returned home following four straight matches on the road. The Roadrunners hosted Stephen F. Austin for a midday matchup as they kicked off seven straight matches in the Alamo City. The Lumberjacks entered the bout without a win while UTSA boasted a 4-0 record at home. Both streaks continued on Friday as Ki Kroll’s group improved back to .500 on the spring season.

The Lumberjacks remained winless, falling to 0-5 on the campaign. Meanwhile, the ‘Runners snapped a four-match losing skid and climbed back up to 5-5 in 2026. UTSA has a chance to end the weekend with a winning record as Tarleton State visits on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Despite a slight lead for SFA on court one, UTSA cruised its way to the doubles point courtesy of 6-4 and 6-3 wins on court two and three, respectively. Valeria Sanchez made her first home appearance of 2026, pairing with Laia Tarazona Peyro to start the day.

The Lumberjacks failed to capture any better fortune in singles action, falling in three straight bouts. Two visitors took their opening set, but both failed to cap off a second before UTSA clinched its fourth team point with Giuliana Giardina’s 6-3, 6-1 win on court six.
