SAN ANTONIO – This weekend, Roadrunner Women’s Tennis returns to the friendly confines of UTSA Tennis Center. Following four consecutive road matches, the Navy & Orange are set for seven straight at home, including two this weekend. On Friday, Ki Kroll’s bunch will welcome Stephen F. Austin before hosting Tarleton State two days later.
THE WEEKEND SCHEDULE
Friday, Feb. 27 (11 a.m.) – Stephen F. Austin (0-4) at UTSA (4-5)
Sunday, March 1 (2 p.m.) – Tarleton State (6-3) at UTSA (4-5)
LAST TIME OUT
The Roadrunners fell in two contests from New Orleans. UTSA dropped a long thriller at Tulane (4-3) last Friday before South Florida ran away with a neutral Saturday matchup (4-0). The pair of defeats dropped the ‘Runners to 4-5 overall, keeping the squad still in search of their first victory away from home this spring. In San Antonio, however, UTSA is 4-0, boasting wins over St. Mary’s, Sam Houston, New Mexico State and Incarnate Word.
ABOUT THE FIELD
Stephen F. Austin is still winless this spring, dropping all four matches to ACU, North Texas, Houston and LA Tech. Tarleton State rolls in at 6-3, most recently downing Northwestern State with ease. The two sides were slated to meet on Feb. 1, but the contest was canceled. One day prior, UTSA was scheduled to visit the Texans, but the match was moved to Sunday, March 1.
UP NEXT
UTSA currently sits a month away from its next scheduled road trip, coming on March 27 at North Texas. Before then, the Roadrunners will still have five more home matches, even following their bout with the Texans. Every home contest will be streamed on sporfie.com/utsa and available to follow via utsa.statbroadcast.com.
