SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's basketball team will hit the road again, this time making the trek to Denton, Texas, where they’ll meet North Texas on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. inside The Super Pit.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+, and Neal Raphael will deliver all the action on the radio in the greater San Antonio area on The Bull 93.3 FM and worldwide on the iHeartRadio app. Live stats for the contest can be found at goUTSA.com/wbbstats.
The Roadrunners (12-13, 7-7 American) will face the Mean Green (16-11, 10-5 American) for the second time this season, last picking up a narrow 66-64 victory. A sophomore Damara Allen game-winner dealt the final blow, as senior Cheyenne Rowe had a career night, scoring 27 on 12-for-18 shooting with 11 rebounds, while classmate Ereauna Hardaway logged nine points with six rebounds and five assists.
Most recently, UTSA fell to Wichita State, 62-61, with Rowe scoring a game-high 23 points, and junior Idara Udo posting a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Additionally, Hardaway added six assists to the stats sheet.
UNT is riding a three-game winning streak, last falling to Rice on Feb. 10, 70-68. Since then, they’ve been unbeatable, logging wins over Tulane, UAB and Charlotte to reach third in the conference standings. They own the top rebound margin in the American, and a plus-7.0 mark ranks 38th in the NCAA. 41.9 rebounds per game are 19th nationally, and Megan Nestor’s 387 on the season lead the country. She’s recorded 17 double-doubles for the ninth-most amongst Division I competitors.
Former Roadrunner Aysia Proctor leads North Texas in scoring at 13.8 points per game, and Nestor is not far behind at 12.8. Andi Schissler runs the offense to the tune of 50 assists, and defensively, Nestor tops the team with 43 steals and 16 blocks.
