SAN ANTONIO – UTSA fans turned out in record numbers this weekend to support the Roadrunners’ baseball and softball programs with both setting program records for weekend series/tournament attendance.
The UTSA baseball program swept perennial power Dallas Baptist to improve to 7-0 on the year, marking the best start in school history. The baseball squad drew 3,048 fans to Roadrunner Field this weekend for an average of 1,016 over the three-game series. It marked the best attended three-game series in Roadrunner Field history and the first time ever a weekend series at the venue has averaged better than 1,000 fans.
Through seven games at home during the 2026 season, UTSA baseball has welcomed 6,428 total fans to Roadrunner Field, which is more than one-third of the total attendance for the entire 2025 campaign.
The UTSA softball team played host to the Roadrunner Classic this past weekend, averaging 419 fans for the Roadrunners’ five games. It marked the best-attended tournament or weekend series in program history based on Roadrunner Field’s fixed seating capacity, and the first time a weekend tournament or series has averaged better than 400 fans for the event. During the opening weekend UTSA Invitational, the program brought in an additional 600 seats of outfield bleachers and averaged 777 fans for the Roadrunners’ games and 748 fans for the entire tournament.
Already this season, UTSA softball has set program records for single-game attendance (959) and best opening-day attendance (605).
UTSA Athletics broadcast each of the Roadrunners’ five softball games and three baseball games this weekend on ESPN+.
